Guestbook for Lloyd E. Johnson

David A. Christiansen
I grew up next door to Scoots and his family in Palisade. Scoots was always interesting and full of ideas. I valued him, Donnie, Lloyd, and, especially, Gladys who baked wonderful glazed donuts almost every night I spent a lot of evenings at their house and liked them very much.

My sympathy to Lloyd's family. He was a unique man and I enjoyed visiting with him. I got to know him shortly after his mom died. Lost track of him after awhile. He was so quiet I never knew he still was so close. Rest in peace.

He was such a quiet, but very good man. Our sympathy & Prayers Dick & June

Skoots was a very intelligent, well-read man and a good conversationalist. He enjoyed the outdoors, being in the woods and on the water. He had a good sense of humor. When he set his mind on an idea, there it stayed. Skoots was the self-appointed photographer for family events for decades. He and my late husband, Bruce Johnson, had a bond formed in Bruce’s childhood and strengthened in adulthood, with shared interests in fishing, canoeing and collecting vintage and classic literature from renowned wilderness authors. Skoots determined how he wanted to live his life and did so in spite of family or well-wishers occasional efforts to change his mind! He was a uniquely independent man, adding color to the lives of those around him. His Mom gave him his lifelong nickname from his alternative style of crawling as a baby. The book on many family stories like that will be closed with his passing. My condolences to all those who loved him.

Skoots was my cousin and he had a kind and gentle soul. So glad I visited with him earlier this summer — he always had a story to tell and some family history to share Prayers to his family
